Pallets Made From Agricultural Waste
What Are The Global Standard Pallet Sizes?
Pallet sizes vary according to region, industry, and the materials used in their production. Each region has its own standards for pallet dimensions, with the most widely recognized being those established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
ISO pallets are designed to fit standard shipping containers, helping to optimize global trade. Additionally, various non-standard pallet sizes are commonly utilized across different industries.
Standard pallet size in North American
In the United States, pallets primarily follow the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA) standard, accounting for about 30% of new wooden pallets produced in North America with a common size of 48 x 40 inches (1219x1016mm), suitable for consumer goods. Two other widely used sizes are 42 x 42 inches (1067x1067mm) and 48 x 48 inches (1219x1219mm).
Standard pallet size in European
The most common standard pallet size is the ISO EUR pallet or Euro pallet, which measures 47.24x31.5 inches (1200x800mm). It is widely used in Europe and South Africa, thanks to its ability to optimize space in standard containers.
In addition, there is another type called Industrial Pallet (EUR 2), size 1000 x 1200 mm, commonly used in the UK, Europe, Asia, and in international trade.

Standard Pallet Sizes
Standard sizes in Australia
The standard pallet size in Australia is 46 x 46 inches (1165 mm x 1165 mm). It is the most popular size, designed to optimize space in storage and transport systems within Australia, making it ideal for the logistics and distribution industry. This pallet size is also well-suited for international shipping containers.
Standard size in Asia
For Asia, there are two ISO approved Pallet sizes which are 43.3x43.3 inches (1100x1100mm) and 47.24x39.37 inches (1200x1000mm).
However, some people consider the 47.24x39.37 inches (1200x1000mm) pallet size to be a better choice for shipping goods to Europe or North America, as this size is easier to integrate into the shipping systems of these regions.
Why Are Standard Pallet Sizes Important?
Standard pallet sizes play an important role in ensuring consistency and compatibility throughout the entire supply chain, from production, warehousing to transportation and distribution.
Space saving: Using standard sized pallets helps to optimize storage space. Pallets can be stacked stably, making the most of warehouse space.
System compatibility: Standard pallet sizes are designed to fit lifting equipment, shelves, containers and vehicles. This makes moving and storing goods easier and faster.
Reduce costs: Standard pallet sizes help reduce transportation and storage costs. Pallets of the same size make it easy to calculate costs, while maximizing space and avoiding waste.
Enhancing safety: Standard-sized pallets help ensure worker safety during handling and loading operations. Using the wrong sized pallet can cause risks such as broken goods and injuries to workers.
Promoting standardization: Standard pallet sizes establish a common benchmark within the logistics industry, facilitating easier collaboration and transactions between businesses.
Why Is Standard Pallet Weight Important In Inventory Management?

Weight of Standard Pallet
The weight of a standard pallet allows for an accurate calculation of the total weight of the goods loaded. A standard 48"x40" wooden pallet typically weighs 15.9 kg to 20 kg, while a plastic pallet of the same size weighs less, from 5.9 kg to 14.5 kg. These figures help logistics professionals plan more effectively for transportation and warehouse arrangement.
The standard weight of a pallet helps ensure safety during the transportation and unloading of goods. Knowing the load capacity of each type of pallet, such as a wooden pallet can carry up to 2,000 kg, a plastic pallet can carry from 3,500-8,000 kg. This helps prevent accidents and damage to goods when overloaded.
NetZero Pallet: Green Revolution In The Transportation Industry
Standardizing for a Green Future: NetZero Pallet is setting a new standard for sustainability in pallet production. These pallets not only adhere to global standard dimensions but also aim for a Zero Carbon footprint.
Optimizing space and weight: NetZero Pallets are often designed to be lighter than traditional pallets, reducing fuel consumption during transportation while still maintaining load-bearing capacity. NetZero Pallets are 20% lighter than conventional wooden pallets, yet they offer equivalent or even higher load capacity.

Optimize the storage space of standard pallets
Compatible with existing systems: Net Zero Pallet still complies with global standard pallet sizes.
In Europe, NetZero Pallet retains the EUR pallet size of 1200x800mm.
In North America, NetZero Pallet remains compliant with the GMA standard of 1219x1016mm.
In Australia and Asia, the sizes 1165x1165mm, 1100x1100mm and 1200x1000mm are still maintained by NetZero Pallet.
NetZero Pallet also customizes the design, dimensions, and structure of pallets according to specific requirements and can be made from agricultural by-products provided by customers.
NetZero Pallet represents a significant advancement in the development of standard pallets. By combining the advantages of standard pallets with green technology, NetZero Pallet not only meets current logistics demands but also aims for a more sustainable future for the industry.
